My name is Maria de Fátima Becker. I moved to Germany from Portugal when I was 19 years old. Never having been outside of Portugal I was in for a shock. Back then speaking English and not German was a big barrier. My first lesson was to find the courage to start speaking German which I had learnt at school.

After university, a foreign trade commercial course, working in a very tough industry (slaughterhouse) I took a break of 6 years and had my 2 sons. Upon returning to work I led a small team in a start-up tea company and moved then to the nut industry. Constant stress, organizing, flexibility, resilience were skills that I had to develop very quickly. I never seemed to have enough time and I became not a priority. Witnessing as I was being perceived as a working mum was also another eye opener.

While I enjoyed work, home office, video calls were my everyday. Those times were also stressful as I had to learn to be alone as a solo employee of the company in Germany while managing my team remotely, travelling very often and making sure I perform and achieve the set goals. Plus, I had to manage my children and everyday life without almost any assistance as I was by then divorced.

And then another change: I became an entrepreneur. I chose freedom and flexibility over regular secured income. With it came the many challenges of entrepreneurial-ship: all the ifs and all the whats and all the hows and whens.

Even with this big challenge, I found something was missing from my life. That is when I decided to change direction again and become a business coach while being an entrepreneur in the nut business. I realized I want to help divorced senior manager mums in the food industry. And another journey began: training, certifications, clients. I am currently PCC, Disc and Systemic Team Coaching certified. And the journey is not finished yet. I am about to start university again to finish my degree.

This is where I am today: I found my passion: people and their resourcefulness. Experience each transformation. I am grateful for the trust my clients put in me. Thank you.
